Very Nice lens, have shot about 5000 images so far, mostly sports & some nature, very sharp & fast! A bit heavy to hand hold but a mono pod makes it easy for extended use. A bit pricey too, but I feel worth it as you get what you pay for!

Dead sharp AF. Shooting high speed sport there is no other lens out there that can perform like this one. A bit of a brute to pack around mounted to the Mark II n, but the results are spectacular.

This lens is unbelievably fast focusing, and of course absolutely tack sharp. Sure it's heavy, but not so bad that it can't be hand held for many applications (especially with the stabilizer). It also works great with a 1.4 teleconverter, with no noticable loss in sharpness or focusing speed. The build is very solid, as you would expect, and the hard-shell carrying case is quite useful. For wildlife photography in servo focusing mode, this lens is perfect.
The wait was well worth it!

I ordered this lens from Vistek back in April and it took nearly 2 months to receive. The wait was well worth it as I paired this lens with my 5D Mark II(also purchased from Vistek). I was so excited the day it arrived that I took the day of work >.>
I read that this lens can be hand held. so I went out to test this on our local Osprey(a fish catching bird of prey).
5D Mark II / Battery Grip
Canon 300mm F2.8L / Canon 2X Extender II
I found this setup somewhat heavy but well balanced.
Auto focus was fast and very accurate.
When I got home and viewed my photographs I was simply blown away!
The osprey photos were dead sharp! The colors were fantastic!
In the end this fine lens easily exceeded my expectations :)
