Nearly Perfect Everyday Lens

A great on the camera all the time lens. It feels well built, and the focus and zoom rings are tight and smooth, plus it has a metal mount. Optics are very good and sharp, but for the price I would expect a slightly faster lens. I can't say whether or not the VR makes up for this, but it probably helps a lot. I found slight vignetting using a Hoya CP filter at 16mm but that was gone completely by 24mm. That said, this lens complements my 70-300 VR extremely well, but if I didn't already have that lens I think the 18-200mm VR would also be a great choice.
I will deduct a star based on the price / speed, but consider it a 4.5 out of 5. Nearly perfect.
