Although I did not buy from Vistek, I bought this over the Nikon version because I wanted an autofocus 70-200 class lens for the Nikon D60. Having the money, I may have gone for Nikon's 80-200 VR. I read the reviews and still was reluctant about this lens, however, I now have no regrets. On the positive, it looks great and handles very nice. It is the fastest and most quiet autofocus lens I own. As for sharpness, it has the potential for excellent results, however, my other lenses are just a tad sharper. Also, vignetting is practically non-existent in the DX format, the pro reviews claim the same for the full frame. Some lab results have given lots mix conclusions about this lens. For example, one review warned about pronounced sun flair. I have found that NOT to be a fair statement. It actually performed very well under many direct at the sun shooting. I have shot many sunsets with no sun flair or loss of contrast whatsoever. Only cloudless direct sun will cause some flair or loss of contract, however, still, even beating out my Tamron macro. In the end, once you try it and don't care about brand name resale value, this lens really is built for speed in every sense. This lens has never let me down in my photo-journalistic work.
