You expect quality from prime lenses, and if a 50mm is priced over $500, you expect it to be the best a normal lens can be. This one delivers, even at f/1.4. I just photographed my buddy's newborn, using just window light and a black muslin background, and even wide-open, the shots were razor sharp. Forget the midrange zooms! Save yourself $1300 and get this lens instead. This will be in my kit for the 2010 wedding season.
