I'm not going to lend any bias being that I'm a Vistek staff member, and I work at the downtown store, on the 3rd floor.
I started out in Digital with a Canon 10D, than I bought a 20D, I was clamoring for a full frame camera, the 5D looked good, but I wanted the next camera to be the very best that I could get. The 1DS Mark 3 fits the bill. I am still working as a Pro and I shoot Weddings, Portraits, Fashion, and Landscape.
I love being able to use all of my wide angle lenses again to their full capacity, the details I can pull out of blacks with the 14 bit digic 2 processor is absolutely incredible.
Canon listened to allot of pros for the design of this camera, and simplified the controls and menu system. Everything feels right, the controls work effortlessly, and the menus are easy to navigate. The Liveview feature was something I never thought I would ever use, I thought this is crazy, it's like having a P&S, in a pro camera, that's nuts. Well I have to tell you that I use it allot. It is a great feature especially when I'm shooting group shots at weddings, and I want check my composition real quick.
So if your thinking of purchasing one of the best Canon pro cameras ever made, than give me a call, I know first hand about this camera, and I never leave home without it.
