Very useful for vacations

I used my Photobank on a recent Greek Islands cruise. In the space of 14 days I took 1500 pictures with an Olympus Evolt E-510 (picture size varied from 3 - 10 megabytes / image). At the end of each day, I removed the Compact Flash, inserted it into the Photobank and transferred the pictures. Ten plus gigabytes later, I headed back home. The device went through airport security and the X-ray devices intact.
The battery life is impressive, considering that I was able to copy a full CF 4-gig CF card twice before needing to recharge the device. As a tool for travellers to protect their memories, I can certainly recommend the Photobank very highly.
And, yes, after the warranty ran out, I installed a 100 gogabyte drive and it works perfectly.
Excellent device but does not read new HCSD cards

I have used a Photobank for 2 years on trips to Turkey and China. It served as a totally reliable backup device. I have recently upgraded to a Nikon D90 which uses SD cards and because of File size considerations it is useful to use the new high capacity SD cards. Unfortunately the Photobank will not read them so one more item to the museum. The photobank only reads SD up to 2 Gigs.
For me the camera upgrade means a change from 5 stars to no stars.
