Archival Methods Tan Slide File Kit Holds 1200 Slides
Although slide presentations have taken a back seat to computer-based technologies, the long-term, safe storage of precious 35mm originals is as important as ever; perhaps more so. First, make sure to take them out of plastic pages, particularly PVC vinyl ones and store them in archivally safe boxes for a compact system.
The system consists of three components: a) 35mm Slide Box for mounted slides, b) Slide Trays to group slides within the Slide Box and c) Drop Front Master Box that neatly and conveniently holds and protects six of the Slide Boxes. All components are manufactured from ArchivalGrade boxboard.
Components:
35mm Slide Box: Each box safely stores 200 standard, cardboard mounted slides. The box will hold approximately 100 glass-mounted slides. Interior Dimensions are 11-3/8'' L x2'' W x 2-3/8'' H
Slide Tray Bin (.020 tan board only): Holds 25 35mm cardboard mounted slides each. Eight trays fit within each Slide Box. The trays have an extended backwall lip or tab for labeling. Trays have a ''pop and lock, instant set-up design.
Drop Front Master Box: This is one of our drop front boxes (tan:01-033, black: 01-133) but for this application handily functions as a master box holding six of the Slide Boxes. Storing slide boxes within the master box has many advantages. You end up with a compact 11-3/4x15x3'' rigid box that safely stores 1200 cardboard-mounted 35mm slides or about 600 glass-mounts. Because of the box-within-a-box design and using the slide trays, you get four separate wall thicknesses of protection for your valuable slides.
