The Canon Selphy ES40 Compact Photo Printer is a dye-sublimation printer which uses heat to transfer ink to paper and reproduces up to 16.8 million colors. It will output a postcard-sized photo in under a minute. Users will never have ink without paper and vice versa because they come in one package...changing media is as easy as replacing a single cartridge.

The ES40 is equipped to print with or without a computer. It is compatible with 20 different memory card types, has a USB port and PictBridge connection for printing directly from a digital camera or DV camcorder. The ES40 can also print wirelessly from Bluetooth mobile devices with the optional BU-30 Bluetooth Adapter.

The Selphy ES40 is simple to operate. The front panel has a high-resolution 3.5" LCD display to view, select and edit pictures plus an Easy Scroll Wheel for selecting various printer features. A Creative Print button allows users to customize photos with elements such as frames, speech bubbles, calendars, and other enhancements.

The ES40 has a voice guidance feature which when engaged will alert users to various printer functions such as, "Select a color", or "Replace the cartridge". It is lightweight (under 5 pounds) and compact (approx 9 x 9") and has a built in carry handle. For added convenience it also has a built-in power adapter.

High-Quality Prints
Dye-sublimation technology uses heat to transfer ink to the paper, reproducing 16.8 million colors for vivid pictures in both color and black and white.

Printer Enhancements
Included with the ES40 is a wide variety of enhancements such as: borderless or bordered images (select from 6 color border choices), multi-layout (1-up, 2-up, 4-up, and 8-up), image quality adjustment, index print, trimming, gold & silver special color print (optional), and red-eye correction.

Creative Print Mode
Customize your photos with Creative Print which includes: frames, clip art, multi-layout, calendar, speech bubbles, ID photo, date print, photo diary, movie print and image effects.

Portrait Image Optimizer
Portrait Image Optimize feature automatically delivers face detection, backlight correction and noise reduction.

Stand Alone Printing
With the ES40 users can print without using a computer. Just insert a compatible memory card into the built-in card slot, select images on the LCD display, and print. A built-in PictBridge connection enables direct printing from a digital camera or DV camcorder. Plus, users can print from wireless Bluetooth mobile devices with the optional BU-30 Bluetooth Adapter.

Ink & Paper In One Cartridge
Consumables for the ES40, ink and paper, come in one cartridge. Printing and changing your ink and paper is easy and you'll never have one without the other.

100 Year Print Life
During the printing process a clear protective coating is added which helps protect against image damages from light, water and gases for photo lab quality photos that will last up to 100 years.

Voice Guidance
One of the new features to the SELPHY ES series is Voice Guidance functionality. Your ES40 will actually give verbal cues to printer functions when the voice button is activated.

Easy Scroll Wheel
The unit's Easy Scroll Wheel makes image access and selection of various printer functions effortless.

The Gold & Silver Option
Add fun and creativity to frames and clip art images with the special optional gold and silver ink colors.
