I purchased this for general photography to use on my full frame and as a portrait lens on my 7d.
What can I say? you absolutely get what you pay for. The images are razor sharp,
this isn't for everyone as it is manual focus. It was a bit strange at first, but I got used to it in a few minutes and then began to enjoy the direct level of control that I had over the focussing. It was much like driving a standard in a car actually.
Construction on this lens is top notch. It Feels like what high quality should feel like, the construction makes some of my higher-end canon lenses feel cheap.
If you are uncompromising about image quality, then this is what you want and is without a doubt worth the investment.
