Gitzo Series 2 Basalt Reporter 4 Section (G1298)
Gitzo has come up with another first. The Basalt range is manufactured from fibres similar to the carbon fibres they already use, woven and formed into composite tubes. The material is light and rigid, and best of all is much cheaper than carbon fibre. It will be positioned between the Aluminium ‘Classic’ and Mountaineer ranges, costing about 20% more than an equivalent sized tripod in the Classic range.
