These tripods are everything the promotions say it is! I've had mine since last spring and love it. Everything about it.
It's a great outdoor tripod. Setting it up on any ground is so easy. The available leg angle positions allow for pretty wild setups. Slopes, bumps, whatever. I've not yet had a time when this tripod wouldn't do what I needed it to do.
As for heads to go with it, their 460MG head, the magnesium one, is an excellent pairing. This head's simple and sure to use. Robustly built. The tensioning knobs... they have an internal conical spring loaded tensioning system that's sure as can be. Very nice in how you can tighten them up most of the way, make final angle adjustments to your camera before securing the position.
One more thing; you can go the distance with this pair by buying the Manfrotto 20MBAG70. At 70cm's long, it is a perfect fit for this tripod configuration.
The XPROB tripod is at the head of it's class and that's even without mentioning the column's ability to switch from vertical to horizontal quickly and you don't need to remove your camera to do it.
