The Benro C-058EX Tripod Legs are a no-nonsense carbon fiber travel tripod for those wanting good support, speedy use, compact folded dimensions, and low weight. This isn't a tripod for doing a lot of extremely-low-height shooting or pointing towards the ground or directly underneath the tripod; it is just a solid 4-section 'flip lock' carbon model with enough creature comfort to make a vacation that little bit more pleasant.
The C-058EX has a 22mm maximum upper leg segment diameter, good enough for smaller SLR setups, and provides a 46.1" 'working height' (legs fully deployed, without the column extended). You'll have to compromise a bit in order to carry such a small and light tripod, but then tripods are always the art of the compromise. Officially, the C-058EX is rated to support 11 lbs (5kg), and Benro recommends it for smaller-sized SLRs with a lens of up to 100mm focal length.
The C-058EX's flip-lever leg locks are of the newest technology, and provide reliable and fast use with just a small motion necessary. Benro also has developed a "QIHM-8X" carbon fiber tube that's very thin and exclusively made from carbon fiber material. Along with extensive use of magnesium in the castings, it allows the C-058EX to weigh just 2.1 lbs (950g).
