1. The Learn to Fly in 10 Minutes program is built around a practical training methodology developed by Antonio de la Cruz through more than two decades of RC and drone flight experience. 
2. Join DJI Canada for an interactive, and beginner-friendly creator hands on experience at Vistek. Whether you're a new owner, or considering a purchase, this area will give you the answers you need to get the most out of these amazing creator production products, whether for personal or professional use.

Learn to fly in 10 minutes - hands on

Whether you're a new drone owner, considering your first drone purchase, or simply looking to build confidence in the air, this event is designed to help you get flying quickly and safely.

Participants will learn:
  • Drone fundamentals and pre-flight preparation
  • Basic flight controls
  • Safe takeoff and landing procedures
  • Stable hovering techniques
  • Orientation awareness
  • Return-to-Home functionality
  • Essential safety practices
  • Building confidence as a new pilot
Introduction to FPV Flying
Participants will be introduced to the exciting world of First Person View (FPV) flight and learn how FPV drones are being used to capture dynamic footage for marketing, storytelling, inspections, tourism, and content creation.
Real-world examples will be shared, including how FPV drone footage was used to create immersive promotional content for Ridley College, providing viewers with unique perspectives and experiences that traditional cameras cannot easily achieve.

  • How FPV differs from traditional drone flying
  • FPV demonstrations
  • Real-world commercial applications
  • Beginner pathways into FPV
  • Safety and best practices

Flight Simulator Introduction & Demonstration Discover how flight simulators can help new pilots build confidence and practice basic maneuvers in a safe, controlled environment.

Topics may include:

  • Basic flight controls

  • Hovering techniques

  • Orientation awareness

  • Flight maneuvers and exercises

  • Building confidence before real-world flight​

Depending on equipment availability and event timing, attendees may also have the opportunity to try the simulator under instructor guidance.

By focusing on the most important flight fundamentals first, participants can quickly develop the skills and confidence needed for safe and successful flight operations. The goal is simple: remove the fear and uncertainty that many new drone owners experience and replace it with confidence, competence, and excitement for flying.
