Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro HDMI Live Stream Switcher

Easy to use - powerful as hell.

I run a four camera live gaming setup with it - never have problems and it works on any machine I've attached it to on the fly.

If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Great little machine.

Purchased this unit along with the 20X-USB-GY-G2 20X Optical Zoom Camera USB 3.0, IP Network RJ45, HDMI, camera. It works great and was fairly easy to setup. The one option that would make it over the top would be an HDMI out port mirroring the data output of the USB output for online streaming. We would use this as a signal to transmit within the building for overflow.

Love what Blackmagic is doing with the ATEM mini switchers. Lots of power but in a small footprint. Keep in mind many of the features are accessed through ATEM Control software via the USC-C port.

For the price I am very happy with the M|ini Pro. There is the expected learning curve for all its capabilities, but it makes it very simple to switch cameras, change to Power Point presentations just with the touch of a button etc. We use Zoom as our streaming media and it integrates very well

4 hdmi inputs, encoding, killer dynamics on the internal fairlight mixer.
What sucks..
- it only takes 1080p sources, which is limiting if you have robot cams, you have to pre-scale everything with 400$ decimators if you want to use them.
- no audio monitoring (this is just stupid) and keying is a bit limited.
- you have to choose between multiview and progtram view for HDMI out.. and there is only 1... there should have been a dedicated multiview
- can't reassign buttons that you dont use
That said, it is amazing, reliable, syncs perfectly, encodes perfectly to youtube etc.. switches, does everything that it does really well, amazing macros, control over ethernet.

Switcher works well for live streaming. It is lacking an extra Output though - no way to record to a USB drive and present itself as a webcam for Zoom etc. Limited apps work with the Ethernet port - twitch, Facebook live, and one other. An additional port would be immensely helpful in that regard.

pro value for consumer price. integrates well with black magic product suite.

Great and easy to used very clean Video

Awesome little switcher with alot of capabilities. But don't expect to do a big multicam production with this thing. It's made for small and simple shows.

However, here's a couple of things to keep in mind :

- The colour correction only works with Blackmagic cameras.
- Most of the switchers features are only accessible thru the software interface on a computer.
- The key on/off button on the switcher only works with chroma keys... Even if you change the USK type to linear key or preset pattern key it forces it back to chroma when using the dedicated button on the atem mini... Very annoying bug. Hopefully it gets fixed in a firmware update.
- DSK is only accessible with software interface.
- Modification of the keys are only possible on software interface
- The Key on/off and Picture in picture are both using the same USK key, so they're not usable at the same time. You can however use the DSK and the USK at the same time with the software interface.

Other than those little quirks it's an awesome piece of equipment for the price. It's very capable for simple HDMI switching with audio. Great multiview and the usb webcam out just works. No need for a capture card to send video to a PC.
A must for anyone looking to switch between multiple cameras for a Skype/zoom/Google meet call.

Good timing Blackmagic for releasing this product!

I bought this because it was so many things that I was interested in in one package. This switcher, recorder & streamer is a lot of fun to use while learning about what it takes to put off a legit looking show.

For the money it’s pretty decent. Missing some features. I’m very surprised that it doesn’t have an audio output to monitor. You have to use the HDMI source (have a monitor that has a Jack) from the output source.

I ordered the ATEM Mini Pro immediately after it was announced for use in live streaming church services. Because of the demand for this affordable, yet very capable tool, it took a while for it to arrive.

It is the best video switcher / live streaming device on the market today. I would highly recommend it. Black Magic is also very good doing providing ongoing software and firmware updates. The latest update is the ability to delay the audio to match lip synchronization.

The challenge over the next while is finding one in stock since worldwide demand is so high.

So versatile and works really well. The save to disk function saves files at high quality and small size 2 hours will be 3 gigabytes.

You need the software to set your stream key but once that's done it stores it internally so you can use it untethered.

The preview window is very intuitive, all around a great piece of hardware.

The system is great for simple video switching, video input sync, and streaming. It would great to have an additional DSK, support for animation media, split screen or video positioning windows. Further, NDI is here to stay and it would be great to support NDI.
