Featuring a Full HD 1920 x 1080 7.4-inch OLED display panel, the HDVF-EL760 viewfinder is ideal for 4K/HD live productions when used in conjunction with Sony system cameras. A new digital interface supports 1080p direct signal transfers from the latest HDC series camera, while the viewfinder also retains a traditional analogue interface for compatibility with other Sony cameras. The new viewfinder mechanism offers a wider up-and-down movement range. Further operational advantages include convenient display of camera head menus and control of camera functions via six assignable switches on the viewfinder for bespoke setups. By this new panel device adoption, the HDVF product body size becomes thinner.

Full HD 1920 x 1080 7.4-inch OLED panel ideal for 4K/HD live production with Sony studio cameras

The HDVF-EL760 Full HD 7.4-inch OLED viewfinder is ideal for use in live production configurations in conjunction with the full range of Sony 4K and HD studio system cameras. The 1920 x 1080 resolution OLED panel enables highly accurate focusing. The viewfinder is supplied with a hood to help minimise glare in outside field operations, together with a protective panel on the OLED display surface.

New digital interface with camera head

A new digital interface allows direct 1080p signal transfers when using the viewfinder in combination with the latest HDC series camera models by the dedicated new cable. There’s also a standard analogue interface to accept analog video signals from earlier generation camera models by the traditional viewfinder cable.

Wide movement of counter balanced mechanism

The HDVF-EL760 features an improved mechanism with a much wider up-and-down movement range as well as the front and rear sliding system. Up-and-down movement is achieved by a unique counter-balanced lifting mechanism that allows seamless positioning over a wide range with clicked 4-step positioning.

Panning braking and clicking system

It can fix the rotation of viewfinder at any position within 270 degrees by the braking mechanism, and it has 3 clicks to position the viewfinder angle at -90, 0, +90 degrees when rotated.

Slider mechanism

When used with new HDC series camera models, the HDVF-EL760 can slide forward or backward to suit operator’s requirements. Positioned at the front end over the camera handle position, it’s located on the centre of the tripod. This makes shooting easier and more comfortable for the operator, requiring less change in their movements even when panning the camera. Because of this new mechanism, the viewfinder can be placed on the center of tripod.

Combined flexible operation including camera head menus

Camera head menus for new Sony HDC series camera models can be operated via the viewfinder panel. Most functions can be assigned to dedicated switches on the viewfinder panel, allowing the operator to concentrate on a single display view. Additionally, the camera side can control the HDVF menus.

Assignable switches on bezel and handles

The HDVF-EL760 offers a total of six assignable switches for convenient operation, with four on the handles and a further two switches on the viewfinder bezel. Switch functions can be chosen from the combined camera menus.

Boosted Brightness Mode (BBM)

The high-brightness OLED panel allows display brightness level to be boosted up to 700 cd/m2 for ease of use in outdoor environments or other conditions with bright ambient lighting.

Colour temperature adjustment

Colour temperature settings for the viewfinder display can be adjusted between 3200K and 9500K in 100K increments to suit operational requirements.

Flicker suppression

A user-switchable flicker supression function reduces flicker that can occur with low vertical frequency input signals.

Camera number display

The camera number can be indicated via a dot matrix LED display according to camera settings, in addition to the selection by the lighting through a plastic sheet.

Waveform monitor function (WFM)

Input signal waveform can be displayed within the viewfinder sub-display, enabling all-in-one picture control monitoring for precise exposure control. 2x MAG output on the viewfinder panel is available while selecting the required position out of 5 positions.

Integral removable hood

The viewfinder is supplied with an integrated hood with a filled nylon filament fabric material on the hood surface. The hood has a function to lift up the top brim part. A longer pyramid-style hood VFH-790 is also available as an option for outdoor use.
