About:

LKVM STUDIO was founded in the city of Hangzhou in 2014 by artists and photographers Lekui and Vincent Marsolais, and established itself in Montreal in late 2020. It is first and foremost a partnership rooted in a common artistic and philosophical vision, one which explores the place of naturality within the aesthetics of our lives and the trascendental individuality of the objects that inhabit the spaces we share. Together, they’ve cumulated over 18 years of experience in general photography, interior design and fine-arts. Using only natural light, they aim to bring to life the essential qualities of intricate works of design in masterful ways. Throughout the last decade, they’ve had the honor and priviledge of working with prestigious designer brands such as Gervasoni, Carl Hansen & Søn, Zanotta, Ethnicraft, Original BTC, District Eight, Maruni, Case and many more. While their work has remained focused on furniture and interiors, this specialization has only acted as an anchor to their insatiable curiosity. Besides the dozens of portraits, lifestyle and fashion assignments, they’ve found an eagerness in bringing to life what only the imagination can conceive; this is notably materialized by their several abstract photography exhibitions, photopoetry books and collections of acrylic paintings, many of which are featured along high-end furniture brands. Ultimately, this diversity in practice and know-how only adds to the organicity andoriginality of their art. Working with light, camera, furniture and accessories as well as a deep-rooted staging and compositional knowledge, their pictures highlight the textures, shapes and purpose craftsmanship has to offer, providing visual inspiration for home-designers and creators alike. Every element added or removed is carefully pondered in its weight and significance. Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophies and following Northern European trends, their mot d’ordre remains harmony - with their subject, with their clientèle and with nature.
