A three-section cross bar can extend to 10.5' using all three sections or 7' using only sections of this background support system.
Secure into place.
The two screw knobs allow you to lock the cross bar into place.

The light stands extend to 12' high. The extra height afforded with these stands means you can shoot your model from a low angle without seeing the top of the backdrop in your shot.
