The α7C II offers 4K 60p/50p movie capture7,8 with full pixel readout and no pixel binning, taking advantage of the latest BIONZ XR processing engine and its wide dynamic range to produce exceptionally smooth images of fast-moving subjects. When recording 4K movies at 30p, full-frame 7K oversampling delivers 4K with enhanced clarity and detail.

Advanced 5-axis optical image stabilization with up to 7-steps of compensation

Enjoy even more stable handheld shooting for stills, thanks to the α7C II’s high-precision image stabilization unit, advanced gyro sensors, and optimized image stabilization algorithms that effectively correct 7.0-steps5 of camera shake. Compatible lenses with built-in image stabilization6 combine with improved synchronization between the body and lens to make framing easier even at telephoto focal lengths that can otherwise cause a large amount of blur.

Active Mode image stabilization supports handheld movie shooting    

Active Mode provides enhanced image stabilization for handheld shooting. A precision image stabilisation unit, advanced gyro sensors, and an optimized image stabilisation algorithm work together for exceedingly smooth, stable movie footage. In addition to in-body stabilization, compatible lenses with their own built-in image stabilization coordinate with the camera body for highly effective control, enabling handheld telephoto shots with greater clarity.

Consistently accurate exposure and color with new AE algorithm    

Employing the latest processing engine combined with an advanced AE algorithm, the α7C II can detect the skin area of faces and adjust exposure accordingly for both stills and movies. It achieves consistent exposure control even in challenging shooting conditions when the subject is backlit, in shadows or direct sunlight, or not directly facing the camera.

High resolution XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 120fps display    

A 2.36 million-dot (approx.) XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 0.70x magnification delivers high resolution and contrast for clear viewing, even in bright sunlight. The finder frame rate can be set to [High] (120 fps), twice the normal frame rate, for a smooth viewfinder image with minimum display motion blur when tracking and shooting moving subjects.

The α7C II is compatible with Sony’s extensive lineup of optically advanced E-mount lenses, including the G Master series that blends breathtaking resolution with exquisite bokeh, and the G Lens series with excellent image quality and smooth bokeh. Creative Look with 10 customizable presets to realize your vision    

Set the visual mood with Creative Look, which offers 10 customizable presets so you can capture the world the way you want. Either use the presets as they are or adjust eight parameters, including contrast, saturation, and shadows4, to create shareable stills and movies in-camera without the need for post-production editing.

Selectable RAW file types and JPEG Light quality setting  

Lossless RAW image compression provides efficient compression for smaller file sizes with no loss in image quality, enabling the camera to shoot up to 27 frames in continuous bursts. There are three lossless-compression image sizes (S/M/L) to suit any application, and a Light image quality selection that generates less data is provided for JPEG and HEIF images.

Continuous still shooting at up to 10 fps with AF/AE tracking    

The α7C II's mechanical and electronic shutters allow continuous shooting at up to 10 fps, or up to 8 fps19 in live view mode, making it easier to capture the most photogenic moments and expressions with moving subjects.

Advanced movie recording formats for simpler post-production    

In-camera 10-bit 4:2:2 recording is available when using Long GOP or All-Intra compression9, making it possible to color grade for fuller, more natural gradations while generally providing greater editing freedom.

Log recording and LUT handling for powerful creative possibilities    

The α7C II boasts an S-Log3 gamma curve that emphasizes gradation characteristics from shadows to mid-grey (18% grey), achieving 14+ stops of latitude10. S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine color gamut settings are also provided. You can apply a custom LUT (Look Up Table) with a Log gamma curve to preview how the footage will look in post-production, or to even record footage conveniently with a PP LUT already applied.
