Explore 60 Backpack
Shimoda needed a better adventure camera bag. So they made one.
The Shimoda Explore System was designed as a reaction to real-world adventure, with bags that have the flexibility to adjust to any situation serious adventure photographers might find themselves in.
Adjustable torso-height
Each bag offers 3-4 size options (depending on model) with 7.5 - 10 cm (3 - 4 in.) of vertical adjustment. This means the same backpack can fit short or tall - male or female- torso heights - ensuring a custom fit for everyone.
Multiple Access Points
The Shimoda Explore backpack offers rear and side access options. The side opening is ideal for quick, under-the-arm access without completely removing the pack. The Rear opening allows wide, unobstructed access to the bulk of your gear for less time-sensitive shooting scenarios.
Core Unit Modular Camera Insert System
Core Units are simple, smart and multifunctional, allowing the bag interior to be adjusted to suit changing terrain and environmental conditions. Available in multiple sizes, they can be stacked and shifted to many different configurations.
Swappable Shoulder Straps
Harness straps can be swapped with other optional straps, such as straps designed specifically for women.
Anti-Theft Rear Access
Allows wide, unobstructed access to the bulk of your gear for less time-sensitive shooting situations. The EVA-padded door-style opening acts as added protection against airborne elements.
Quick Side Access
The side opening is ideal for quick, under-the -arm access without completely removing the pack. It's accessed through a YKK SplasGuard zipper which protects water and sand from entering your pack.
Padded Phone & Accessory Pocket
Each strap has a fast-access pocket for commonly accessed items: a stretch sleeve on the right fits snacks, water bottles, sunscreen and two-way radios, and on the left there is a zippered mobile phone pocket.
Convertible Multi-Use Pouch
A removable pouch located in the side panel pocket that can secure a tripod to the side of the pack, or it can be mounted to the shoulder harness (with included Accessory Straps) to act as a drop-in holster for cameras as large as non-gripped DSLR body and lenses as long as 70 -200 mm 2.8.
Weatherproof YKK Splashguard Zippers
The pack has YKK SplashGuard (RCPU) zippers in critically exposed areas of the backpack to prevent rain, snow and sand from entering your bag.
